St Thomas Home
It all begins with an idea. An art collector of mine (I’ve been a professional artist and graphic designer for over 30yrs) asked if I could paint a mural in his living room in the US Virgin Islands. Of course, I said YES even before I asked how large the wall was. I had no idea it would be 11’ tall x 19’ wide. He wanted lots of detail and the sense of walking into the dry, crunchy leaf-covered trail. We spoke about his vision and I suggested I sketch the surrounding flora when I arrived from Washington state so that we could give a sense of bringing nature inside the home. Then I proceeded to paint it like a watercolor to give it depth. The result was breathtaking!
Tacoma Retail Store
I LOVE painting murals! I am elated to be one of 22 artists chosen by The City of Tacoma to paint outdoor community murals. The image at left happens to be a private commission inside a retail store in Tacoma.
This is only one section of the large project. It shows my ability to create depth on a flat wall.
